2014 W. Britain Model Figure Symposium
We are pleased to announce the first W. Britain Model Figure Symposium scheduled to take place at the Wyndham Hotel in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania beginning Friday, August 8 through Sunday, August 10, 2014! The symposium will focus on Civil War and there will be several levels of participation offered throughout the weekend giving you the flexibility to register for whatever your schedule permits. The weekend will start off on Friday the 8th with an informal welcome reception and registration. Saturday will be filled with a full day of informational seminars with an evening banquet, and the weekend will be wrapped up on Sunday morning with your choice of an activity. The Saturday seminars will be a series of presentations on Civil War subjects from historians, Patrick Cradock, Charles Tarbox, and Bob Bradley, among others. The subjects will include how armies move by Squad, Company, Regiment and Brigade, how artillery was used and maneuvered at Gettysburg, the history and preservation of Confederate colors, and an interesting look at period farms, crops and the impact on the armies’ operations. Lunch will be served between the morning and afternoon seminars. The Saturday evening banquet will feature remarks from Kenneth Osen, General Manager of W. Britain, and a keynote speaker (yet to be announced). In addition to a dinner, a silent auction will be held with several pre-production samples and one-of-a-kind conversions. A special American Civil War Collectors Club figure will also be given out to those attending the banquet.
The Sunday morning activities include your choice of a hands-on figure painting workshop with W. Britain Master Painter, David Youngquist, or a guided battlefield tour. New sets and dioramas will be on display throughout the weekend in the various event areas. So, come join us for a weekend full of expert information and learn the reasoning behind W. Britain when it comes to the historical research for our product development.

OTSN - 34th Annual Chicago Toy Soldier Show

Info: The largest toy soldier show in the US (and probably the world), every conceivable toy soldier imaginable all under one roof. The show is Sunday only, but room trading (manufacturers, retailers and collectors open up their hotel rooms to the public for what is known as room trading) begins as early as Wednesday 24 September. W. Britain will open their room Friday and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Stop by and see all the latest releases, a few sneak peeks and dioramas to knock your socks off!
